Earlier we wrote about Federal law that would give individuals the right to register trademarks. The law will come into force on June 29, 2023.
On September 19, 2022, by its Regulation No. 1652 the Government of the Russian Federation introduced respective amendments to the Regulation on patent and other fees concerning individuals.
In addition, the Government established the amount of fees payable in connection with legal protection of names of appellations of origin and geographical indications on the territory of the Russian Federation in accordance with the Geneva Act of the Lisbon Agreement on Appellations of Origin and Geographical Indications.
The relevant law on Russia's joining the Geneva Act will enter into force on December 31, 2022.
