On April 19, 2022, the Protocol on the Protection of Industrial Designs to the Eurasian Patent Convention (EAPC) entered into force in respect of the Republic of Belarus. Eurasian patents for industrial designs issued on applications filed starting from this date will be valid on the territory of the Republic of Belarus.
At present the Protocol has entered into force in respect of the Republic of Armenia, the Azerbaijan Republic, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan. Thus, the regional system of legal protection of industrial designs has extended to almost the entire region of the EAPC. The only member state of the Eurasian Patent Organization that has not yet joined the system is Turkmenistan.
