In the collection of articles of the Fifth International Academic Conference «Intellectual Rights: Challenges of the XXI Century», the report of the head of the Industrial Designs Group of «A.Zalesov & Partners» Patent & Law Firm Ivan Istomin «Transition of invention into public domain» has been published (in Russian).

The current legislation does not clearly define the moment when an invention enters the public domain. The author of the article considers some situations in which an invention that has passed into the public domain cannot be freely used by any person.
