Aleksey Zalesov, Senior Partner of «A.Zalesov & Partners», considers the reasons and mechanism for the transfer of rights of the inventor in favor of the patent holder and the related transition of the inventor's personality into the brand of the patent holder. The author demonstrates a fundamental difference between the functioning of the copyright legal system which preserves the legal connection between the author and the work, and patent law, where such a connection is largely interrupted. This phenomenon is due to the peculiarity of the functioning of a market economy and the turnover of both objects of copyright and objects of patent law in it.
