On June 29, 2023, Federal law No. 193-FZ «On the Amendments to Part Four of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation» came into force, according to which individuals can register a trademark in Russia without registration as an individual entrepreneur.
Thus, starting from June 29, 2023 individuals in Russia will be able to apply for registration of a trademark without registration as an individual entrepreneur.
On June 29, 2023, Federal Law No. 193-FZ of June 28, 2022 “On Amendments to Part Four of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation” came into force, according to which individuals can register a trademark in Russia without registration as an individual entrepreneur.
Previously, only legal entities or individual entrepreneurs could register a trademark in Russia. From now on, the right to a trademark may also belong to citizens, including those engaged in certain types of entrepreneurial activities without forming a legal entity and without state registration as an individual entrepreneur (self-employed persons).
