The International Medical Forum «University Science. Innovations 2026» was held on May 18 and 19 at the Sechenov University Congress Center. This is a key event in the field of university biomedicine, science and innovation.
During the forum, participants discussed the strategy for the development of healthcare in the Russian Federation, technological leadership issues regarding the interaction of the state, science professionals and businessmen, as well as prospects for the implementation and development of artificial intelligence in the medical field, and many other topics.
Honorary guests and speakers included the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Denis Sekirinsky, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Ekaterina Priezzheva, representatives of the Russian Science Foundation, the Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises and Gazprombank, academicians of the Russian Academy of Sciences, legal consultants, industrial partners, rectors and vice-rectors of leading medical and engineering universities and chairmen of the Councils of Young Scientists of Medical Universities of Russia.
As part of the business program, a panel discussion was held on the topic «Why Don’t Patents Work?» with an analysis of real cases in which patent protection proved ineffective, and practical advice on how to build a strategy and protect intellectual property rights from invention to brand.
Irina Ozolina, senior partner of the «A.Zalesov & Partners», Russian and Eurasian patent attorney, lawyer and executive secretary of the Russian National Group of AIPPI, spoke on the topic of «How our words will resonate. How everything you say when patenting can be used against you in a case of infringement or validity of a patent».
The program also included master classes and specialized sections for young scientists.
The event concluded with an awards ceremony for the participants of the «University Science Relay 2026» competition. We congratulate the nominees and winners!
