The pharmaceutical company «Generium» filed an objection to the Chamber for Patent Disputes against the grant of Russian patent No. 2807548 for the invention «Strain of Escherichia coli bacteria with a reduced ability to accumulate acetate - producer of a hybrid polypeptide containing proinsulin glargine». The reason for the appeal was the discrepancy, in the opinion of the person who filed the objection, between the invention protected by the patent and the patentability terms of «industrial applicability» and «inventive step».
Despite the arguments of the person who filed the objection, on August 13, 2025, the Board of the Chamber for Patent Disputes ruled to refuse to satisfy the objection and keep Russian patent No. 2807548 in force.
