On March 27, 2026 a round table discussion was held as part of the XII International Scientific and Practical Conference «Trends in the Private Law Developments». The topic of the round table was «Intellectual Property in Metaverses: Legal Challenges and Regulation».
During the event, students have presented summaries of their research papers, which will be published. Most of the speakers have prepared presentations with visual demonstrations of their findings. Many students have analyzed court decisions and relevant foreign legislation.
The students’ performances have been evaluated by an expert committee, including Anastasia Zalesova, Trademark attorney and Head of Consulting Group at «A.Zalesov & Partners» (part of the ZTG Group). Anastasia noted that even first-year students have presented, analyzing the problem almost on par with master's students. All participants have answered questions well, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the material they had studied.
The conference also featured a master class by Sergey Zagraevsky, Advisor to the Antimonopoly Law and Public Procurement Practice, on the topic «The Balance of Patent Protection and Drug Availability in the Context of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation's Resolution No. 13-P dated March 12, 2026». Sergey noted that the students showed a keen interest in this topic, actively participated in the discussion, provided detailed responses to the questions posed, and successfully completed challenging tasks.
