On January 10, 2020 the Moscow City Court approved an amicable settlement between «ХANTIS PHARMA» and «ASTELLAS PHARMA» in a patent infringement lawsuit filed by the latter based on the Russian invention patent 2143432, which is a term extended patent for a pharmaceutical composition. The plaintiff «ASTELLAS PHARMA» while filing the claim with the court sought preliminary injunction against the pharmaceutical product of the client, and revocation of its marketing authorization issued by the Russian Ministry of Health. After the rejection in preliminary injunction the parties have had negotiations with a positive outcome. The settlement permits the defendant represented by Irina Ozolina (Senior Partner of «A.Zalesov & Partners» Patent & Law Firm) and Vladislav Ryabov (Senior Associate) to keep marketing authorization and to enter the Russian market with the product in due course in the near future.
