On May 20, 2026, Alexey Zalesov, Head of Intellectual Property Practice at «Zalesov, Timofeev, Gusev & Partners», gave a presentation on the topic of «Patent Abuse in the Context of Compulsory Licensing» at the annual Intellectual Property Conference of the Association of European Businesses in Russia (AEB).
This speech focused on protection against patent misuse, primarily in the pharmaceutical field. The discussion was conducted in the context of the recent Resolution of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation on the review of the constitutionality of the provision of the law on compulsory licensing of patents (Article 1362 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation).
