An international online-conference in the area of intellectual property DISTANT & DIGITAL took place on October 08-09, 2020. This has been a major educational event with more than 3000 participants and 200 experts from Russia, Great Britain, the USA, Singapore, etc engaged.
Managing Partner of «A.Zalesov & Partners» Patent & Law Firm Aleksey Zalesov along with a patent attorney Yuri Buch took part in «Patent attorneys 2.0: market expectations and current situation» session. One of the key topics of the discussion was a draft law on amendments to the Federal Law «On patent attorneys». Dr. Aleksey Zalesov expressed his opinion on the draft law, highlighted positive trends the document contributes to, such as: development of the rights of patent attorneys and the authorities' interest in increasing the attractiveness of this profession. Apart from that they raised issues that are not covered by the draft law, but still are vital to improve in order to regulate the activities of patent attorneys in Russia, in particular, elaboration of common standards for the profession.
