Lawyers of «A.Zalesov & Partners» Patent & Law Firm represented the patent holder, individual entrepreneur Aleksandr Dubovik, in a dispute on the invalidation of Russian Patent No. 2681727, which relates to a sealed pump module suitable for use in the oil, oil production, oil refining, petrochemical and other industries (Case No. SIP-311/2025). Individual entrepreneur Denis Merkushev filed an objection with Rospatent, requesting to invalidate Russian patent No. 2681727, owned by individual entrepreneur Aleksandr Dubovik, on the grounds that the contested solution lacked an inventive step. After reviewing the objection, Rospatent invalidated the patent in full, citing that the invention does not meet the patentability requirement of inventive step and also denied the conversion of patent for invention into a utility model.

As a result, the specialists of «A.Zalesov & Partners» defended the patent, not only proving the invalidity of Rospatent's conclusion of unpatentability, but also substantiating the erroneousness of Rospatent's conclusion regarding the impossibility of converting an invention patent into a utility model patent.
The IP Court ruled to invalidate the decision of Rospatent in full. The Court, without sending the case for reconsideration, ordered Rospatent to restore the legal protection of Russian Patent No. 2681727.
